ABSTRACT
The history of Nigeria Labour Congress is replete with industrial actions
expressed in the form of strike actions and demonstrations since its formation in
1978. These industrial actions usually occur due to federal government policies
that do not favour the Nigerian workers. Such policies may include among
others increase in pump prices of petroleum products and failure of government
to increase the minimum wages of workers when due. This research findings
shows that there is no federal government administration in Nigeria without a
face off with the labour union.
